Communicate With Clients All Year-Round

Keeping in regular touch with clients is a time-consuming chore for most CPAs. Between business meetings and other demands, you simply can’t afford to contact each client individually. But you can still accomplish your main objectives, with just a little time and effort, at an extremely reasonable cost. Plus, there’s an extra break for members of CPAmerica!

First, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Ken Berry, owner of Elite Editorial Services (EES), and I’ve been providing content to CPA firms for more than three decades. During my long career, I’ve also written thousands of articles for a wide variety of publishers and online platforms, including Thomson Reuters, Kiplinger, CPA Practice Advisor and Accounting Web.

Previously, I served as Managing Editor for WPI Communications, a client newsletter provider, and then as a long-time contributor to their publications. When WPI Communications folded in 2018, I continued to meet the needs of CPA firms by offering the monthly EES Newsletter. This newsletter is targeted to the individuals and small business owners who are typically clients of CPA firms.

The way it works is simple. On the first business day of the month, we email you a Microsoft Word file containing editorial content on issues likely to interest your clients. Typically, this e-newsletter consists of four full-length articles of approximately 500 words each, one “box” two-to-three paragraphs long and two “briefs” on tax news or small business items of one paragraph each.

Overall, the editorial content is a mix of tax, general business, financial and retirement planning articles. We present unbiased information, including content about major tax legislation and other new developments, that informs and educates. Best of all, articles are written in a conversational tone that encourages readers to seek the services of a CPA firm.

You can use this e-content in a variety of ways:

Email the newsletter verbatim to clients and prospects. Alternatively, you can choose only certain articles, make whatever tweaks you want and/or add something personal about your firm. The content is yours to use as you see fit—no restrictions!

Print and mail the newsletter. Again, you can put the content in any format you like. For instance, it may be produced as a standard newsletter, a brochure or a component of other marketing materials. Just be sure to include your firm’s information on the printed piece.

Post the newsletter on your website. This is the easiest and most cost-effective method of communicating with clients—and it gives them a reason to keep coming back to your site.

What’s the cost? Here’s where the price break I referred to earlier comes in. The regular fee for the EES newsletter is just $200 per month. If more than five CPAmerica firms participate in this service, the fee for each firm will be reduced to $175 per month. That’s a saving of $300 a year. Several firms are already subscribing to this service, so you’re off to a good start.

If you want to hear more details or see samples, I will gladly accommodate your needs. You can contact me at kberry.elite@gmail.com or (301) 858-0610.

Sincerely,

Ken Berry
